I was born in Tampa, Florida, and I was a resident of Florida until I moved to Gainesville, Georgia in 1975. Since that year I have called Gainesville my home.
I live on Lake Lanier and take full advantage of what the lake lifestyle offers. I love spending as much time as possible on the lake with my wife of 18 years (Marcela) and our 2 daughters: Natalie (8) and Briana (4). I enjoy many other sports… golf, tennis, softball and weight training.
My father owned and operated his own business, and I worked very closely with him throughout my life. During this time my father instilled in me the burning desire to control my own destiny. He was a huge fan of “the art of the sale”. I was hooked on the self help books of that time such as Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill and many others. I became a student, then an expert on the “abc’s” of selling. All the greats teach one “golden rule” …excellent customer service!
Prior to becoming a real estate agent, I worked as a sales manager for a large computer company where I was able to hone my skills in sales and management. During my time there I set every sales record possible. At that point I had a very good understanding of who I was and where I was going in life. I became much closer to my family and friends. This helped me develop the wonderful relationships I have today.
My financial success enabled me to invest in real estate. My father always told me “real estate is like gold, they are never going to make anymore of it.” I started purchasing foreclosed properties. Some I held and rented, and built my real estate portfolio. Others I refurbished and resold.
This was a great experience for me because I learned the business from an owner’s point of view, and I gained experience as a builder which has been instrumental in my general contracting career. As my portfolio grew so did my interest in real estate. I soon found myself active in the local Gainesville real estate market daily. I left my job that I loved, to pursue my real estate dreams.
I joined ReMax on July 19, 1999. I was hired as a buyer’s agent for a local Realtor that represented exclusive lake properties. I left ReMax in 2003 and started my own real estate company and never looked back.
